How's the word count?

So I've been doing NaNoWriMo. I don't know if it's because I just wrote another book in five weeks right before November but it honestly hasn't seemed that hard. If I miss a day then it can get very easy to fall behind. But otherwise 1667 words in one day doesn't seem to be that difficult. Which is good because if it was hard I probably wouldn't be able to do it.

How's the word count for you guys?

The biggest problem I've been having is that, just like the book I wrote right before, I have little sense of where I'm going with this story. And not only does that slow my word count but it's also an excellent way to write yourself into a corner. I think I may have to sit down and actually plot but oh, how I hate that. I don't know why but some convoluted romantic suspense with dozens of twists and turns I rarely need to plot but two people falling in love without any dead bodies? That's a toughie.

The biggest problem I've been having with my characters is that them I do have a sense of and, like so many well developed characters, they want to do their own thing. I'm having a hard time keeping them apart. They just want to go for it. And it isn't even lack of conflict. They just keep wanting to say, all these problems be danged, let's just go for it. I've given them the smackdown but like all children they will no doubt start to rebel again within the next twenty-four hours.

Anyway, how are y'all rollin with the NaNo?
