Wow, it's been three weeks since I blogged last. I'm a lazy bum. I got a job so that's been taking up my time. I have been struggling with an issue I think we all face at some point in our writing career.
I will use no names or specific genres but I have discovered something that I could write for some serious cash. They are short, they are easy to write and the advance is mind blowing. But I think for the most part the stories are crap. I don't know if I want to perpetuate everything that has given a bad name to the genre it's in. But the money, the sweet, sweet money.
Is there any line between being a sell out and being a literary whore or are they the same thing? Is there really anything wrong with whoring oneself every once in awhile? As long as you don't make a habit of it. Kurt Cobain is probably turning over his grave right this moment.
Anyway, not an important topic but just something I've been pondering.
Song of the day-- Can't Buy Me Love, the Beatles. You can't buy it but you can pay me to write it.
Quote of the day-- Those who flee temptation generally leave a forwarding address.

Ya gots to do what ya gots to do, chica! I don't think you're whoring yourself out by writing this particular genre. Now if you were taking a stab at erotica...well, that might be different considering the conversations we've had about that. Just keep on keepin' on! :)
Ha, yeah. I probably shouldn't care so much but I just feel like a sell out. It may be my generation X roots coming back to haunt me. Who know. Thanks for dropping by :)
